my new beverage of choice

Believe it or not, I have not had a Diet Pepsi since I left the States. Unfortunately, I will have to endure withdrawal symptoms when I get back home so I can kick the "Lift" habit. Lift is my favorite of the fizzy drinks I have tried since coming to New Zealand. In another post, I will talk about the various chocolate biscuits my very thoughtful son-in-law has introduced me to during the past few weeks.

Look what I found!

A picture of our little fashionista as her big brother Josiah looks on.

a few moments at the Skeen household

This a little illustration of how patient and loving Tanisha is, even when all three children are demanding her attention. There are many times when Grandma just won't do...it has to be MOM.

* No children or moms were harmed in the making of this video.

a few more beach photos

I love the beach, so I took lots of photos! And of course I love Tanisha & Adia. Today was the first day Adia wore "an outfit" and of course I didn't get a very good photo of her first ensemble. Sorry. Second photo is of a path we followed along the shoreline (with mighty Tanisha pushing her very large stroller, I might add!) Last photo I took to show how clear the water is. Beautiful!!

Birthday adventure part two

So my beautiful daughter and hidden granddaughter are in the first photo, and a shore view and then me on the rock. And yes I have put on a few pounds, thanks for asking. I am doing a food tour of Northern New Zealand if anyone wants to know.
Even though this was one of the last days of winter, it was a perfect day for a trip to the beach. What a wonderful birthday treat!!!!

I just realized

I went from toilets to trendy food with nothing in between....sorry.....

Birthday adventure

To celebrate my 54th birthday, Tanisha & Adia took me for a girl's day out to Mairangi Beach (don't hold me to the exact spelling). We had a great meal at a trendy cafe, and then went to a nearby park on the shore and enjoyed just soaking in the peaceful and beautiful scenery.
But let us first linger awhile with the food.....the top photo is of the trendy cafe but really doesn't show it to the best advantage, but I can't figure out how to change it, so I guess we're stuck with it. The second photo is of Tanisha's "Chicken and something on a bagel" then is my ricotto cakes with a fabulous mushroom sauce....but the most wonderful item is pictured last, and that is a peanut brittle slice, and was very tasty. My selection was also very tasty, and very rich.
